MEET CHRISTIAN

Christian has been living, working and making a difference in the 5th District for the last 15 years. For fun, Christian, her wife, and their two boys love going to the 5th District's many festivals.

Christian believes that ideas get better when people work together. She is constantly thinking about ways to get people of all ages involved in the decisions impacting our community. Christian's commitment to working collaboratively is the theme that runs through her work and volunteering:

  • Launched and ran West Side Grows Together while working at Cornerstone West CDC, creating a model for community-driven parks revitalization.

  • Served as the first Executive Director of the Wilmington Land Bank where she set up systems to bring Wilmington's vacant properties back into use.

  • Leads a consulting business helping non-profits develop affordable housing, build community facilities, and fund programs for youth.

  • Volunteers with Green for the Greater Good to make sure the Rodney Reservoir becomes a beautiful public park, the H.O.M.E.S. Campaign to promote safe and affordable housing state-wide, and the and the Wilmington Fines and Fees Justice Team to reform ticketing, booting, and towing practices and make water bills more fair and affordable.

  • Endorsed by the Working Families Party.

Christian's training in community and economic development and urban planning helps her understand that Wilmington and the 5th District will face big changes over the next four years.

Christian believes that new challenges need new policy solutions. She has been part of successful resident-led advocacy efforts that have helped Wilmington create new programs like homeowner repair, water bill assistance, and down-payment and settlement assistance. As your Council Member, Christian will work hard to bring more policies that have shown results in other places to Wilmington.
